How To Search For a Job: What Not To Do

There are hundreds of articles and blogs that will tell you how to find a job.  The problem is that the majority of us read these and then head out looking for work.  These articles have actually hindered our chances of finding gainful employment.  So I have decided to list a few methods that will sabotage your chances of finding work.  Only follow these if you do not want to work.

Job Sabotage Tip #1:  Lie on your resume.  There is nothing like giving your your resume a face lift and make it look like something that every employer wants to read.  You do not need to be honest on this.  Just write it up and give it to them.  Maybe they wont ask you any questions or check on your references.

Job Sabotage Tip #2: Cool sounding emails.  If you set out to impress the employer with some really cool sounding email addresses then the internet is for you.  Everything is free including email.  So, just make up a bunch of email addresses and give them to prospective employers.  This way you never really have to read the mail they send.

Job Sabotage Tip #3: Do not use the best job search sites.  Not one of them.  They are all full of jobs that you will love.  So, why look at them.  Only apply for jobs that you are very under qualified for or know that you are not going to get an offer from.  Also by using one of the lesser known job sites you will not see as many possible jobs.  Its a free country and you can look at any site you want.

Job Sabotage Tip #4: TYVM for reading this.  Thats right say move over English language and start using texting language to communicate.  Throw in a few OMGs and LOLs and you will be sure to find the exit quick.  Who likes a long job interview anyways.

Job Sabotage Tip #5: Facebook.  Post what you want and say anything.  In fact point out that you have a Facebook acct and really enjoy the freedom of saying anything.  Including bad things about past employers.  Remember that everyone can see your wall.

If you use one or all of the above methods you are not going to find work.  So if you are looking for ways to ruin your chances of finding work it is highly recommended that you utilize this list.  Its great for those who want to do nothing with their lives.

Promoting Healthier Foods: Michelle Obama Partners with Walmart

Have you noticed that eating healthy is also expensive.  Michelle Obama has set out to do something about this.  Childhood obesity has become her main agenda and she will not stop at anything.  Just wait until you hear the news coming out of Washington on Thursday.  Walmart and Obama team up to attack obesity in our children and adults.

Recently the company has been in talks with Michelle Obama and they have derived up a plan.  A plan to lower the cost of fruits and vegetables over the next 5 years.  Walmart also plans on reducing the unhealthy ingredients in their packaged foods.  This is right in line with what a bunch of other companies are already doing.  There are already standards in place that control the amount of trans fats.

The best thing about this initiative is that Walmart is by far the largest grocery retailer in the country.  If they can reduce the cost of eating healthy then more and more Americans can join in.  After all isn't the reason you do not eat right is because of the cost attached to food that is good for you.  I guess the fact that they are doing this over a 5 year period is to give consumers a chance to adapt to the new tasting foods.  What is the point of having healthy foods if no one is going to buy and eat them.

Maybe with this going on, people might stick to their New Years resolution to lose weight.  Kudos to Walmart, Michelle, and all the other companies for taking our health into concern.  Hopefully fast food places like Burger King will see that Americans want to be healthy not dead.   Good day all!  If you want to read more about this check out this article in the NY Times.

What is Good Life Fitness?

I named this blog Good Life Fitness for one main reason.  I wanted to know what good life fitness actually was.  Do you live the good life?  What does living the good life mean to you?  Are you physically fit, mentally fit and morally fit?  All these make up the good life.  That is what I believe anyways.  Of course it has different meanings to different people.  What does living the good life mean to you?

To be physically fit means that you are healthy and energetic.  That is what most people think when you see or read anything about being fit.  Are you healthy?  You could be working toward the goal of living a healthier lifestyle.  Maybe you are not so fit at the moment, but you know what you want to change about yourself.  That is only part of the purpose that I have for this blog.

Mentally fit, what does this mean?  To me to be mentally fit means that my mind is strong.  I have beliefs but I am open to others.  I have a strong free mind.  Free of any of these mind altering chemically enhanced drugs.  Do not get me wrong, I do enjoy a nice cold adult beverage from time to time.  I just know and practice moderation.  That is what being mentally fit means to me.  If you let your mind become overtaken by anything including video games then you are at risk of having an unfit mind.

Morally fit, this is a tough one.  I say that because there are way to many different beliefs out there to just live one way.  Even though it is my way, and I will be blogging about my beliefs in this category from time to time. I want to be able to keep religious and political beliefs my own.  I am in no way going to be pushing what I believe on to you.  But, I would enjoy it if you read what I have to write and you can even comment on your own beliefs.

There you have.  My first post to my Good Life Fitness blog.  I know that this is only a blogger.com blog.  But, I want to try this blogging thing out and see if I can make it work. There are those who feel that getting a paid hosting plan with a domain is the way to go.  I just feel that following them might lead to a bad mental fitness practice.  So, I am heading out on my own with this first post.
